Implant Removal Discharge

AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS: IMPLANT REMOVAL

Please keep the steri-strips on for 1-2 weeks, 2 weeks is optimal. The gauze and foam tape can be removed when you shower tomorrow.

You may experience bleeding after the numbing medication wears off, an hour or so after your procedure. If you do, apply firm pressure on the wound for a minimum of five minutes, then use hydrogen peroxide to clean the area of any blood to make sure the skin edges are together.

If it feels good, you may use an ice compress for swelling and comfort during the first few hours after surgery, please keep a barrier between your skin and the ice. Ibuprofen 400-600 mg or Tylenol 750 mg every six hours both work well if needed for pain control.

Avoid strenuous activity for at least 72 hours, you can do light work outs after the first 24 hours. No soaking in tubs for 2-4 weeks, but showers are fine!

Wear any bra that is comfortable after the first 24 hours. Underwire, sports bra, anything that feels good.
