I am a board certified plastic surgeon who has specialized in face and body aesthetic surgery for over 20 years. I love helping people feel more comfortable in their skin. Aesthetic surgery is a very challenging field of surgery. It starts with listening to the needs of the patients and effectively communicating the possible outcomes. Helping patients achieve more natural looking, healthy, body or facial contours results in tremendous wellness benefits. I do not think plastic surgery has achieved the level of respect it deserves in terms of health benefits. Surgery is a highly technical and complicated field, where attention to detail, aesthetic sensibility, and state of the art patient safety practices can result in highly rewarding outcomes for patients.
I think being a female plastic surgeon helps me understand the way women relate to their bodies. I also think being an aesthetic plastic surgeon is a natural extension of the type of care giving many of us women feel very at home with.
Education
It’s the foundation of my entire career. I may consider myself an artist to one degree or another, but have no doubt, plastic surgery is a complex area of medicine which demands extensive training and a life-long commitment to education in surgery. I am committed to being a member of an elite group of surgeons who is willing to criticize convention in order to allow evolution of the practice of plastic surgery to the highest quality and patient safety standards.
